In short: Plowshare is a screen-time coach. The coach runs on your kid's phone. The phone sends the parent app summaries (minutes, app names and what the coach did), never screenshots, messages or what your kid types. We keep your family's data in Israel, we don't sell it, we don't use it for ads, and you can have it deleted at any time.

Who we are

Plowshare ("we") makes the Plowshare app for kids' Android phones and tablets and the Plowshare parent app at getplowshare.com/app. Questions about privacy go to privacy@getplowshare.com.

What we collect, and why

WhatFromWhy
A parent's Google account email, name and picture"Sign in with Google" in the parent app To sign you in and show your partner who else manages the family. Only parents invited to a family can sign in.
Family rules you write, kids' first names and ages, school tests and calendar events you add You, in the parent appSo the coach knows your family's rules and plans.
Daily summaries: minutes per kind of app (short videos, social, games), app names, longer sittings, and each coaching step (a nudge, a break, an idea) with its timeYour kid's phone To show you how the day went, and so your "right" or "wrong" marks can improve the coach.
Names of apps the phone doesn't recogniseYour kid's phone We look the app up by its name on Google Play to tell whether it is a game, social app and so on. Only the app's name is sent to Google Play, nothing about your kid.
The Google account your kid picked on their device (optional)Your kid's phone So events your kid is invited to in Google Calendar can reach their coach.
Google Calendar events (optional, read-only)Google, after a parent connects a calendar See "Google Calendar" below.
Technical logs (time, address and kind of request)Our server To keep the service running and block attacks, such as repeated wrong sign-in codes.

What stays on your kid's phone

The coach reads what is on the screen to tell, for example, an endless video feed from homework, and decides there and then. What it reads on the screen is never sent to us or anyone else. Notes the coach keeps on the phone about content are deleted after 30 days.

Google Calendar

If a parent chooses to connect Google Calendar, Plowshare asks Google for read-only access to that parent's calendars. We read only the calendars the parent picks, and only the next two weeks of events. The parent app shows the event titles to the parents of that family. Your kid's phone gets only each event's time and kind (for example "homework" or "practice"), never its name, place or guests. We never change or delete anything in your calendar. You can disconnect at any time in the parent app (Family rules, Calendar) or in your Google account settings; we then delete the access we held.

Plowshare's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We don't use Google user data for ads, we don't sell it, we don't let people read it except where you ask us to (for support), for security, or where the law requires, and we don't use it to train AI models that are not part of your family's own coach.

Who we share it with

We never sell your family's data and never share it with advertisers. We use a few service providers who process it for us only to run Plowshare:

We may disclose data if the law requires it.

Where it is kept, and for how long

Kids

Plowshare is set up and managed by parents. A parent installs the app on their kid's device, and we encourage parents to tell their kid what the coach does and what the parent can see. We don't show kids ads and don't ask kids for personal details.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live (for example under Israel's Privacy Protection Law or the EU GDPR) you may have further rights, and you can complain to your data protection authority.

Security

All traffic is encrypted. Each phone and each parent sign-in has its own key. Too many wrong codes lock an address out for a while.

Changes

If we change this policy we'll update the date above, and tell parents in the app before a change that matters.
